Have You Released Toxic Chemicals Into The Air?

Thrown away any cell phones, computers, tablets, TVs, DVD players, stereos, and printers lately? If so, odds are the discarded items or items ended up in a landfill or were incinerated which released toxic chemicals and other pollutants — such as lead, mercury, and cadmium into the soil, groundwater, and atmosphere. Time Magazine reported that more than 50 million tons of e-waste was generated globally in 2018. 3 years later it is estimated 40 million tons is still being generated worldwide despite various efforts to lower that number. TheWorldCounts.com estimates that is like "throwing away 800 laptops every second."

So why don't millions of people recycle their electronic gadgets? As of 2021 only 19 states have laws that ban regular trash disposal.  Let's face it, it  is easier for folks to just toss an electronic than try and recycle it. Some places will actually charge you to recycle. Other places will buy your item but they offer such a low amount that it doesn't seem worth your time to package it and ship it. So what can you do? Recommit to your broken device and have it fixed. Donate your old device to an organization, friend, family member, even a stranger. Delay in buying a new device until you really need it and drop your unwanted device off at an e-cycler.  You could even learn to fix the electronics yourself.

Here at Repurposed Tech Parts we partner with local electronics companies to help keep their customers unwanted but functional tech parts, iPads, tablets, and laptops out of the landfill. Many of us would gladly pay hundreds of dollars less for the newest iPad knowing it doesn't have Touch ID. A display assembly that has a small spot on the LCD is a steal at hundreds of dollars off. And the best part? These electronics go on to be used instead of releasing toxins into the air in a landfill or being incinerated.

We like selling our broken electronics that our electronics partners can not refurbish to Gizmogo. Gizmogo will send you a prepaid label and box so you don't have to worry about the hassle plus they offer great prices.
